Vintage Tops, Newly Quilted
What is a Reawaken Quilt?
We are glad you asked! A Reawaken Quilt is an old forgotten, unfinished, not quilted, quilt top that finds its way to us so that we can finish it and get it to the right place to be used and loved. The finishing process is involved and has many steps because those forgotten quilt tops were usually put away for a reason. Each and every quilt is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Each stitch tells a story of the hands that made it. Each top is unique and tells a story of the past. The fabrics are from a time gone by and guessing where each one came from has the ability to transport us back in time.

Is that one from an old shirt? A dress? An apron? Feed sacks? Some are fussy cut and other are pieced together just to make a size needed. We love to pick a name for each top to acknowledge the maker. We are honored to reawaken these quilt tops, creating something cozy and nostalgic that can be used. We choose to embrace some of the imperfections and let the original makers story shine bright. Not every corner is square, borders might not be perfectly straight, but we can see life lessons in it all. It does not have to be perfect to be beautiful. Celebrating the stories of stitching that were started in years gone by reawaking these beautiful tops is our way of passing history forward.
